Meet Our Exceptional Leadership Team

Jennifer Anderson – Executive Director

For over twenty years, I have been deeply committed to enhancing the lives of older adults. While our time is finite, the spirit, faith, experiences, and talents we possess are boundless. I find great fulfillment in helping individuals feel valued and ensuring they finish strong, knowing their lives matter up until the very last moment. My grandparents were remarkable people, and knowing they lived with dignity brings me immense joy. This is the standard of care I strive to provide for everyone.

Brittani Henderson – Activities Director

My name is Brittani Henderson, and I am a devoted mother of two. With over nine years of experience as an Activities Director, I have had the pleasure of working with both memory care and assisted living residents. I take great pride in seeing the joy on our residents’ faces and in making our new residents feel truly at home. My foremost goal is to ensure each resident remains engaged and full of life.

Jenny Laubscher – Outreach Liaison

My nursing career began in 2007 as a pediatric nurse, where I initially believed my passion would remain. However, in 2019, my role in case management revealed the critical importance of community resources for older adults. This experience, coupled with hands-on work with seniors, ignited a new passion in me. I am now honored to serve as the Outreach Liaison for Regency, where I have the privilege of educating Tuscaloosa and the surrounding areas on the unique qualities that set us apart. Additionally, I am proud to represent Regency as a Certified Alzheimer’s Foundation of America Dementia Care Partner.

Veronica A. Sims – Dietary Manager

Hi, I am Veronica A. Sims. I am a proud Navy Veteran, a mother of two daughters, and a wife of 29 years. Working with elderly people is why I gladly accepted to work for Regency. I love to see our Residents happy and smiling at mealtime. Working at Regency brings me joy. I am proud to be a member of this organization.

Donnetta Miller – Assistant Director of Nursing

With 28 years of experience in the healthcare field, I began my career as a caregiver in 1997 and became a Licensed Practical Nurse in 2010. My professional journey has spanned a variety of settings—including geriatrics,  hospital care, home health,  manufacturing, and travel nursing —each enriching my understanding of patient needs and deepening my commitment to compassionate care. As a mother of two and a proud grandmother, I bring both personal and professional empathy to every interaction. My mission is to foster a nurturing and respectful environment for those we serve, ensuring that every individual feels valued, supported, and cared for within our community.

Markisha Smith – Business Office Manager

My healthcare career began as a caregiver, and through years of experience, I have developed a profound understanding of the importance of compassionate care. With over 15 years in the field, I am driven by a deep-rooted commitment to others. This dedication allows me to effectively communicate, empathize, and guide residents and employees through their admission, orientation, and transition to the next stage of life. Caring for others is not just my profession; it is my passion.

Rachel Adams – Director of Nursing

With over three decades of experience in the healthcare industry, I have cultivated a deep commitment to the well-being of geriatric residents. My journey began as a home health aide and caregiver, progressing over 18 years to become an LPN before ultimately becoming an RN. My career has spanned urgent care, family medicine, hospice, and long-term care before joining the Regency team. As the elderly population continues to live longer, I believe they deserve compassionate care that ensures their safety and well-being. My primary objective is to create a warm and secure environment for all our residents.

Cameron Kennedy – Maintenance Director

With over seven years of experience in senior living, I take great pride in ensuring our residents feel safe, comfortable, and truly at home. As Director of Maintenance, I am committed to creating an environment that reflects the warmth and quality of care we provide.

From managing day-to-day operations to overseeing long-term facility improvements, I strive to make a meaningful impact on the lives of both residents and staff. My goal is to foster a space where dignity, safety, and community thrive—because every detail matters when it comes to making people feel at home.

Wayne Nicholson – Community Consultant

With deep roots in West Alabama and a heart for service, I bring both personal and professional experience to my role at Regency. Born and raised in Demopolis, I’ve proudly called Tuscaloosa home since 1998, where my wife and I have raised two wonderful sons—one currently in high school and the other attending the University of Alabama.

Staying close to home has allowed us to remain connected to our aging loved ones, several of whom we’ve had the privilege of caring for. These personal experiences have given me a profound understanding of the emotional and practical challenges families face as circumstances change with age.

Professionally, I bring over 30 years of experience in sales and marketing, guided by a relationship-centered and enthusiastic approach. I’m passionate about empowering older adults and their families through education, advocacy, and thoughtful guidance. My goal is to help each client navigate the journey of senior living with clarity, dignity, and compassion.

Outside of work, you’ll find me cheering on the Crimson Tide, gardening, camping, spending time with family, and exploring new hobbies that keep life fresh and fulfilling.
