Tuscaloosa-EotM-Blog-October

Hi. My name is Ireka LaShaye Williams. I am your honoree for the month of October and I am honored and grateful!

I was born July 5th, 1981 in Eutaw, Alabama. I am the daughter of Jacqueline Williams and James Hughes of Aliceville, Alabama. I attended Alabama State University and Shelton State Community College, majoring in Communications, Psychology, and Nursing. I have three beautiful daughters: TiNya, Jalynn, and Jaliyah Williams. Two of them will attend Shelton State Community College in the spring.

I’ve been a Certified Nursing assistant for thirteen years, but I’ve been a caregiver for over seventeen years. I was blessed with this wonderful experience of taking care of my son who now has his angel wings. For most of my life, I’ve had the pleasure of caring for others because I was born with a kind and patient gene. It brings me joy to be able to help those in need and bring a smile to the faces of family and friends.

During my spare time, I enjoy reading good novels with happy endings, watching movies, walking in the park, singing, and traveling to different places with great views to create memories with family and friends. I like the sunny beaches, but prefer cabins in the mountains with cozy fireplaces. I also like teaching my youngest to cook because she wants to become a chef one day.

But my favorite thing of all is shopping. I like to find treasures old and new, then add my own little touch of decor and make it a masterpiece. Let’s not forget about food. I love anything Italian! Pizza is at the top of my list. Trying out new restaurants and learning different recipes brings me joy. Aside from that, what makes me happy most is being part of the Regency family. I have the pleasure of interacting, caring for, and bringing smiles to the faces of the residents.

I am overjoyed and would like to thank everyone who nominated me to be the employee of the month.
